The application of Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet backbone architectures into ITS has ushered in the era of high-quality, high-resolution, full frame digital video for traffic management solutions. Digital networks using MPEG2 Encoding and hardware and software decoders is rapidly becoming the de facto standard for ITS. Impath Networks iVolution and Video Surveillance Gateway platforms provide the ITS professional with all of the tools they need for a successful, reliable and maintainable sytem.

Impath provides hardened MPEG2 one-channel and two channel encoders and decoders. Optional fiber interfaces are available with a built-in hardened layer 2 Ethernet switch for MPEG2 encoders. Rack mount options for high density encoding and decoding are also available, with up to 24 channels in a single chassis. All equipment is SNMP manageable, as well as managed through iMPath's Televue NMS. The Clientvue software decoder allows multiple streams to be displayed simultaneously with touring and PTZ for most major camera vendors, including NTCIP control.

Impath has recently introduced a line of hardened MPEG4 encoders and decoder solutions for low bandwidth applications.
